Monday's Mistake - can you spot the mistake/s in the picture?

This is a forward-facing Britax Boulevard installed in the center of a 2006 Honda Pilot (for those who are curious, the top tether is attached properly - it just isn't shown in the picture).

Stay tuned for some great teaching tips tomorrow on LATCH when I post the answers.

  1. I haven't seen how the LATCH works on a booster seat yet but I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to go around that bar. Also, I think the manual says to use LATCH OR seat belt but not both.

  2. This isn't a booster seat. It's a convertible car seat and that is where the LATCH hooks are connected to.

Seat is not allowed to be installed with both LATCH and seat belt and I don't believe this vehicle allows a center LATCH install.

  3. LATCH and seatbelt should not be used at the same time and the seatbelt should go over the LATCH bar for a shoulder belt install. and i can't tell for sure but i wouldnt be surprised if the LATCH was upside down.

  4. 1. Both LATCH and SEATBELT are used
    2. LATCH is not allowed in the center of most Hondas IIRC (not our Civic, anyway!)

  5. I also want to comment to check that the Latch Clips are facing the right way. Its hard to tell from this picture if they are upside down or not.
